2023-2024 Season

The season started in a panic. Spending the offseason rebuilding up to a functional team we had little knowledge. Going into competition we learned almost everything during the build season and barely got a working robot before going into Monterey Bay Regional. Competition was better than expected and we learned so much. Then in the offseason we continued to branch out joining Open Sauce and Sunset Showdown to close out the season.

Our Team

​Steel Boot was established in 2017 at Salinas High School. It consists of 10+ students across all grades. We have approximately three years of experience as team 6506 in the FIRST Robotics Competition.

What is FIRST?

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was established in 1989 with the goal of inspiring a love of STEM in students all around the globe. To achieve this, FIRST has developed a wide array of accessible robotics competitions targeting all ages from kindergarten to high school. They have garnered support from numerous well-established companies, such as Google, Apple, NASA, Boeing, and GM.
